In Martha, what is old can be new again, food & fire brings us back to the deepest origins of cookery, a practice that is unharnessed, allowing for the authentic flavours to speak for themselves.

Martha’s focus is cooking with our Mediterranean Mibrasa ovens. Mibrasa (pronounced meh-brasa) is a primitive culinary method imparting subtle, smoky palate from the simplicity of cooking over hot coals reaching beyond 500 degrees Celsius.

Who is Martha?

Martha was a 30-tonne schooner that Captain William Ried sailed accidently into what we know now as Lake Macquarie, in 1800 it was known as “Reid’s Mistake”

Our crew enjoy sharing a few yarns about Martha and her fortuitous mistake, the best mistake we think she could have made.

The vibrant drinks list proudly showcases a mix of classic cocktails and a playful array of signature creations named ‘Martha & Friends.’ This collection of seven cocktails, featuring distinctive names like Mabel, Josephine, Madge, and Rose.

A notable gem on the cocktail menu is the aptly named Martha—a carefully crafted blend incorporating locally sourced Earp gin, Dolin rouge, Chambord, and lemon juice. Reflecting Martha’s commitment to supporting local distilleries.

“Our front and back of house team are a bunch of seasoned hospitality professionals that are passionate about great service, food, and drinks, and we are all very excited to welcome our first guests to the venue.”
