Celebrating Culinary Excellence: Belmont 16s Sailing Club’s Perfect Plate Competition Entries

We are thrilled to announce our participation in the annual Clubs NSW “Perfect Plate” competition, showcasing culinary brilliance from clubs across New South Wales. This year, our talented chefs at SALT Kitchen and Martha Drink and Dine have created two outstanding entries that have caught the eye of culinary aficionados and critics alike.

Our Entries

  1. Duck Ragout Pappardelle from SALT Kitchen: This dish is a testament to our commitment to quality and flavor. The duck ragout is slow-cooked to perfection, combined with handmade pappardelle pasta, creating a rich and comforting meal.
  2. 500g Rib Eye from Martha Drink and Dine: A true celebration of premium beef, this rib eye steak is expertly seasoned and cooked in our signature Mibrasa open flame ovens, offering a melt-in-your-mouth experience that is both satisfying and memorable. The marbling and tenderness of the meat make it a standout contender in this competition.

Celebrity Judge Matt Moran’s Visit

We welcomed celebrity chef and perfect plate ambassador Matt Moran to our establishment for a special tasting session early in the competition. Renowned for his discerning palate and culinary expertise, Matt Moran’s visit was a significant highlight for our team.

During his visit, Matt sampled both the duck ragout pappardelle and the 500g rib eye. His feedback was overwhelmingly positive, praising the complexity and depth of flavours in both dishes and the “from scratch” approach to our accompanying condiments . He mentioned that the duck ragout pappardelle had a “beautifully balanced richness” and that the 500g rib eye was “cooked to perfection, with a tenderness that is hard to beat.”
