Belmont 16s Sailing Club Foundation

Established in 2024, the Belmont 16s Sailing Club Foundation is registered with the Australian Sporting Foundation, an independent fundraising entity that focuses specifically on Australian Sports Fundraising.

Our mission through the Belmont 16s Sailing Club Foundation is to provide opportunities for junior sailing and secure the future of our sport for many generations to come.

Our Club’s foundation aims to ensure that sailors continue to compete at a world-class level for another century.

Who is the Australian Sports Foundation?

The Australian Sports Foundation has been helping athletes, sporting clubs and organisations fundraise for more than 30 years.

To further address the funding shortfall, the Sports Foundation has successfully gained charitable status to enable private and public ancillary funds to invest in a sporting future where everyone can play.

We have a rich sailing history that stretches over 100 years.
We want to ensure it stretches over another 100.

Projects & Goals

As part of our ongoing commitment to providing a safe and effective learning environment for our sailors, we have identified several key current equipment needs. These items are essential for safety, learning, and development, ensuring our programs can continue to grow and thrive.

Our Goals and Projects will evolve over time, however we are committed to ensuring that all investments are crucial to maintaining our high standards of safety and education, allowing us to continue developing world-class sailors.

We have 4 key projects we would like to achieve in the coming sailing seasons 2024 / 2025.

New Pelican for Fleet Renewal – $14,000

  • This investment will enable the renewal of our training fleet, ensuring that our sailors have access to reliable and modern boats.

New Tacker Optis (4) – $3,000 per boat

  • Adding four new Tacker Optis will allow greater participation in the Tackers learn-to-sail program, fostering inclusivity and skill development among more young sailors.

Additional Life Jackets, Spare Equipment, and Teaching Aids – $3,000

  • Ensuring the safety of our participants is paramount. Additional life jackets and spare equipment will enhance safety measures, while teaching aids will improve the learning experience.

Additional Polycraft Support Boat – $5,000

  • An extra support boat is crucial for the Tackers learn-to-sail program, providing necessary on-water assistance and ensuring the safety of all participants.
