Join us on Friday, 10 May 2024, in the South East View, Level 1, Belmont 16s Sailing Club, for the Harbouring Hope Lunch, an inspiring event dedicated to raising awareness of domestic violence. This pivotal gathering unites the shared mission of speaking about domestic violence and fostering hope and healing for those affected.

Special Guest Speaker, Rosie Batty, a renowned family anti-violence campaigner, will share her profound journey of hope and finding peace after the tragic loss of her 11-year-old son, Luke, who was murdered by his father at his cricket practice in Melbourne in 2014. Rosie’s resilience and dedication to the cause of raising awareness have made her a beacon of strength and inspiration. Rosie will be signing copies of her book, “Hope”, for guests who bring their copy along on the day.

Steph De Sousa, a talented Master Chef Alumni, joins Rosie in this cause with her commitment to supporting domestic violence prevention. Steph’s passion and colourful flair promise to add a unique and meaningful dimension to the event. She will also be signing copies of her cookbook, “The Air Frying Queen”, for attendees who bring their copy.

The Harbouring Hope Lunch is proudly hosted by the Belmont 16s Sailing Club in support of “Got Your Back Sista (GYBS)”, a registered charity established in 2016 with the vision to see women and their children happy, thriving, and living independently after escaping the trauma of family violence. Got Your Back Sista offers essential support to over 1,200 women and their families, providing a hand up to begin again and empowering them to thrive.
