COVID Safe | Belmont 16s

Our focus has always been, and continues to be, on the health and well-being of our staff, patrons and the broader community as we face the COVID-19 pandemic together.

As we have found during the pandemic, the guidelines can change quickly, and we need to be agile. On this basis we will continue to regularly monitor developments and adapt as required to keep us all safe, ensuring we communicate effectively with our Members through our social media platforms as well as our website, and of course if you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact the team.

We proudly display our tick of approval as a registered COVID Safe business with the NSW Government. Our COVID Safe plan includes our commitment to the well being of members and employees, physical distancing, hygiene and cleaning as well as record keeping.

In additional tabs on this page we have outlined our Clubs COVID safe policies and procedures as well as answering some of the most frequently asked questions surrounding our Club and this evolving Covid-19 landscape.

Conditions of Entry

Due to heightened warnings from NSW Health we have had to reconsider the conditions of entry to Belmont 16s. Currently entry to the Club is restricted to full Members only (excluding those members who reside within Victoria). Our intention is to reduce the risk of transmission within our venue and the community to help protect our local stakeholders and is based on feedback that we have received from a range of members and is consistent with similar positions adopted by some of our competitors. We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause and trust that you can understand our stance in these challenging times.

Masks for Members

During these times more so than ever, we value the health and safety of our team and our Members. We have made the decision to offer masks to those who feel more comfortable wearing one while in our Club. Simply ask at our Front Desk or the COVID Marshal on duty for one. Currently wearing masks in NSW Clubs is not mandatory, however we support anyone’s choice in wearing one.

Physical distancing and people flow

To assist us reduce mingling between different areas within Belmont 16s and to enforce the recommended physical distancing measures of 1 person per 4 square metres , we have been able to utilise our unique layout and large physical footprint to designate five separate COVID Safe areas within the Club to comply with the current Government guidelines. Consequently, we have modified our layout so that each COVID Safe area has only one entry point and has access to separate food and beverage services.

Area 1 is our lakeside food and beverage precinct which has a capacity of 300 people and comprises of Blend Café, Sails Eatery, Salt – Steak & Seafood, Mario’s Pizza, Bay Bar and The Star Lounge

Area 2 has a capacity of 183 people and covers our gaming lounges

Area 3 has a capacity of 157 people and includes the Boat Shed Bar as well as Burger Bros

Area 4 has a capacity of 148 people and includes the Spinnaker room on the first floor

Area 5 has a capacity of 72 people and includes The Quarterdeck and Macquarie room on the first floor

To help us manage the movement of people in the Club we have suspended some of our promotional programs but have maintained some other activities click here for our current What’s On Guide.

When visiting Belmont 16s we request that you follow our signage, floor marking indicators, remain seated and respect the directions of our COVID Safe Marshals who are here to help you keep safe and healthy.

Enhanced hygiene measures

It is important that we all contribute to keeping everybody safe and healthy during the pandemic. While Belmont 16s remain committed to our COVID Safe practices such as enhanced hygiene and cleaning regimes, promoting social distancing and providing clear thoroughfares to avoid co-mingling, you can also play your part by maintaining your distance from others, by using the hand sanitizers that we have provided and most importantly staying at home if you are feeling unwell.

We support anyone who wants to wear a mask within our Club, as such we provide these free for our staff’s use along with offering them to any Member who requests one at our front desk.

Eliminating common touch points

Sneeze guards, kiosk only sign in / outs and contactless menus have all been implemented in view of minimising common touch points of Members and Staff.

COVID Marshal team

Our COVID Marshal team are present during every hour that we are open. They are easily spotted with their blue vests. These Marshals are responsible for ensuring that our Club’s COVID safe plan is implemented every single day to protect our Team, our Members and our Suppliers.

Since the commencement of the pandemic we have all been forced to modify the way we go about our everyday lives, which creates uncertainty in us all. The one constant is that at Belmont 16s you will always find our smiling team ready to deliver first class hospitality and serve you delicious meals, frosty beverages and Lake Macquarie’s best coffee in your Club in the safest way we can.
